Highlight keywords in input line

description

The annoying thing about regex is that text and keywords are mixed and it's hard to distinguish them instantly. It would be great to use different styles on the regex input, like:

  • different character classes can be displayed with different style. For example:
    • negative character groups can be red
    • non-word (\W), non-space (\S) and non-digit (\D) can be purple
    • all character class keywords can be bold
  • anchors can be lightgray
  • grouping constructs can be gray and highlight grouping content while cursor is inside group
  • quantifiers can be yellow green
  • backreference, alternation, substitution & misc constructs may be styled as well

*note: all colors is just for example, there might be better combinations than specified
